The community of Rothwell Heights-Beacon Hill North neighbourhood can now access even more recreational programming, following the renovation and expansion of the City of Ottawa Beacon Hill North Community Centre. Designed by CSV Architects, the expanded and modernized space is suitable for a large variety of social and recreational events geared towards community members of all ages. Fitness classes, activities for children, and neighbourhood parties are just some of the programs this multi-purpose facility will offer.
Part of CSV’s vision is to create healthy and inclusive communities for all to enjoy. The addition includes a large multi-purpose space, a full-sized kitchen, and new barrier-free washrooms. A key component of the design was the consideration of occupant comfort and well-being. Large windows were included in the design to provide access to more natural light. An outdoor courtyard at the front provides additional space for recreational activities.
The Beacon Hill North Community Centre can now more effectively serve the requirements of the local community. More indoor programming options, an outdoor courtyard, and accessible features all work together to make the Rothwell Heights-Beacon Hill North neighbourhood a more vibrant place.
