New Cornerstone Supportive Housing
CSV is thrilled to once again work alongside Cornerstone to provide a new home for women and gender-diverse people facing the challenge of homelessness in our community.
This project will be the development of 46 new affordable residential units located at 44 Eccles Street in Ottawa. The building is an existing 4-storey office and former school which will be retrofitted into studio apartments. 30% of the units will be dedicated to Indigenous Peoples.
Once complete, the building will include a community kitchen, shared living and multi-purpose space, offices for Cornerstone staff and other support providers, and outdoor garden and seating area.
Supported by the Rapid Housing Initiative
Funding for this project was provided by the Federal Government’s Rapid Housing Initiative through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. Additional funding will also be provided by the Provincial Government and the City.
Cornerstone Housing for Women is a not-for-profit organization that provides housing and support for women in an inclusive and barrier-free way. We are proud to be a part of the solution to end homelessness and provide affordable housing to women in need.
