Principal
Jessie Smith is a Principal and Project Architect with a wide range of experience delivering sustainably designed spaces. Jessie’s list of key projects includes several multi-unit affordable housing projects. One of these, 211 Lees Avenue (Haley Court), was recently awarded a City of Ottawa Urban Design Award. Other key projects include worship spaces, office spaces, and community centres. Jessie is an advocate for efficiency in all aspects of design and project management. She is passionate about sustainable design as a way to improve occupant comfort and well-being.
Originally from Northwestern Ontario, Jessie studied locally at Carleton University where she received a Bachelor of Architectural Studies degree and a subsequent Master of Architecture degree. She also lived in Helsinki, Finland for several months where she studied Wood Architecture. She is a LEED Accredited Professional as well as a Green Globes Professional. Jessie served on the board of the Ottawa Regional Society of Architecture (ORSA) for 4 years as Vice-Chair but stepped down to spend time taking care of her two young children.
